LUCAS KARLMANN A young man raised in Cirith who has an unusual interest in technology, but, "Doesn't want to be bothered with anything, needs some talents, and sleeps through Gnome's earthquakes." He stumbles on the Ancient girl while she's fleeing from the Imperial Army, wounded and carrying a strange machine that evolves into a mecha-sword: the legendary Maxwell. She claims her wards risked their lives to save her's, separated from her by the Empire's soldiers searching for the infamous 'ship of the Ancients' that fell to the Edge of the World.
SWORDSMAN - 19 - MALE - NONE - WATER ZOE STAVROS Sent from the mythical and revered Naos, the City of the Ancients said to have disappeared into the heavens a thousand years past, she is a warrior and seer. The ship carrying her malfunctions, and they fall to Illeia, the Edge of the World. Within hours the Empire is clamoring to capture her, assuming an Ancient to be capable of resurrecting the dying technology of Yumiris.
She and the Cirith boy are of a pair: he, who can control Summon Spirits, and she, who sees glimpses of the future. Their mission: to awaken the sleeping, or Fallen, Spirits deep within Yumiris and revive the Maxwell. PM AN ADMIN FOR INFO.
SWORD - 20 - FEMALE - ANCIENT - SPIRIT FIRST BELMONTE The only heir to the Empire, raised entirely behind the sheltered and protective walls of the Imperial Palace. Often lamenting that his life revolves around being served, empty smiles from castle maids, his princely duties, and ultimately nothing of interest at all, he's intrigued by the boy and the Ancient girl brought into the Empire.

Largely uninterested in assuming the throne, the princess has devoted herself to eradicating the slave trade. WHIP SWORD - 25 - FEMALE- EMPIRE - WATER FIRST M. MAGIC - APPEARS 23-33 - FEMALE - ANCIENT - ELEMENT FIRST M. LAST A young man who is pursuing Zoe, and is himself an Ancient. Having sealed the Summon Spirit of Volt upon his fall—and doomed Drasil to an incredible monster attack, unbeknownst to any not investigating the mines—to Yumiris, he plans to wipe their group from the face of the planet for "conspiring against the council." LAST The leader of the underground rebellion: charismatic, charming, mischievous, womanizing, and sharp as a blade. Although he appeared recently, the rebellion in Gladiolus's slums have finally been brought under the leadership of one man. His speeches are powerful, strong-willed, and he has a budding interest in the Empire's princess as she challenges him for stirring up violence in the lower quarters... WEAPON - AGE - MALE - EMPIRE - ELEMENT ZEPHYR KARLOTTE The illegitimate prince born to a maid, he was smuggled out of the castle during the riots that erupted in the capital twenty years ago. DUAL SWORDS - 21 - MALE - EMPIRE - WATER FIRST LAST The leader of the cultist group "Maxwell's Revival." Nothing is known about him other than that he wears a strange mask and could be quite young. A religious radical, he and his followers have a strange charisma and want to capture the Ancients to reawaken the Goddess in the core.
MAGIC SWORDSMAN - 24 - ?? - MALE - NONE - SPIRIT SAITO MINAMOTO-SHUURA The Imperial Prince of Zhi Ming has good intentions, but an almost disturbing pragmatic mindset. Problems of succession have pitted him against his fellow kin, and he swears to take the throne. After discovering that there are rumors—and evidence that—the whole of Yumiris exists as a giant mechanical creation through Drasil, he has taken it upon himself to send expeditions to other nations in hopes of unifying the countries under one purpose.
KATANA - 28 - MALE - ZHI MING - EARTH NAO-YEON LIAN HUA The Imperial princess, living in Zhi Ming and caught in the upswing of her brother's fight for succession as her father dies. Having recently lost her lifelong friend, Sumire Ayanako, she wonders if perhaps the world has abandoned her, and seeks to strike out for peace with Namco Banda and the Western world. However, she is still terrified, still young, and still unable to escape the Empress's anger at her for befriending a "worthless halfling girl."
HARP - 20 - FEMALE - XIHE - EARTH CASS R. SEYCHELLES The lead general of the Empire, she has a staunch hatred of the Guilds and plans to lead a secret rebellion within her own kingdom. She believes the imperial family is pitiful and not striking when King's Hold is at its weakest—and, with loyal men and a reputation as a heroic Knight, a great many support her.

In search of information to further his own agenda, he encountered the Ancient, but she managed to evade him by the scrape of her teeth.

Privy to government information as she works to have him placed as her second-in-command, he has become a central player in her plan to go against the entirety of the Gladioan Empire.
SWORDSMAN - 26 - MALE - NONE - LIGHTNING AEDAIN TEOTHE The leader of the Hunter's Guild, he is a very respectable man and has the most solid reputation. Although his history is complicated, he took up arms in the guilds at his own request, and has been working to serve his own for the past two years. Recently, he brought together many of the most important figureheads of Eld, and works to unit them under one purpose.
SPEAR - 24 - MALE - KING'S HOLD - FIRE VINCENT LAW The captain of a ship carrying the Empire's flag. Very resourceful and with a history of animosity with the Guilds, he has a reputation for his tactical skill and knowledge of battle. Recently, Vincent has come into a high position in the Empire, and may end up approached by the kingdom to have more power within his own brigade . . .
CHAIN - 30 - MALE - GLADIOLUS - ICE KAI LU WEI A young boy who works with the military and is loosely associated with the monks inside the palace because of his long family history. Because of his close ties with the Royal family and his military prestige, he is expected to take on a role that lives up to his reputation, but trauma has rendered him fearful. Rumors talk about him acting as the young princess's escort as she pursues her missing servant, Sumire . . .
