Cause I can't look back
No more turning back The morning light was a pleasent wake up call as Rachel opened her eyes. She hadn't slept like that for quiet some time, feeling rather refreshed, and no bad dreams either. A pleasent night sleep straight through. the last time she had something like that was... Well...
No, that didn't matter. She had to get started on the main reason she was here in Zhi Ming. Rachel was asked to be a messenger, and to tell the people of the East of Maxwell's coming. It was a big job, and she honestly wondered why she was given such a responsibility. After all, she wasn't a great public speaker as compared to their leader. He was more inspiring to the people, so much so that it seemed unnatural. However, this was her chance to prove herself. She couldn't let this slip by.
Getting up, she reached for her bag, pulling out her clothes and her cloak. Although as she was changing, she stared at the long article of clothing. The moment she puts that on, she'll have to get to work... but... Did she really have to do it so soon? Sure, this was her chance to do something productive for everyone, but...
"I'll do it later," she openly stated as she pulled a pink shirt on and slipped on a black jacket. She didn't have to do it as soon as she got up, did she? This was her first time here, so why not go ahead and get to know the place first? Maybe then she'll have a better way to address everyone when she actually does speak. Different cultures, different ways to talk to people, right?
Walking out of her room, she caught sight of the person at the front, letting them know her room is still in use as she left the inn entirely. The streets were rather busy, but the city was breathtaking. It was nothing like the Empire or the Guilds. Sure, she could tell there was a different air about this place when she came in last night, but the light gave a completely different look to the area. Yeah, getting to know the capital here was a good choice. Plus, it meant experiencing something new at the same time. With a small smile, she started her stroll. This day was surely going to be interesting, at least.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,10,true] [atrb=style,width:320px,bTable] i carry the strength of souls now gone Rumors. At that point of time, Kai Lu had nothing but rumors to work with. But in light of what the rumors suggested, it prompted Kai Lu to take action, even if the lingering chance of it being entirely nothing haunted his search.
The soldier of Zhi Ming wandered down the streets of the city he had vowed to protect and serve, clad in the attire distinct to the man. He had on his yellow sleeveless hoodie, with the symbol of the Wei family printed upon the front, at the bottom on each side. Under that, he wore the armor set of Earthly Protection. Under the waist guard of the armor set was a pair of black pants, reaching down all the way into a pair of black combat boots. His hands were gloved, of course, the signature weapon of his family, Wei's Legacy, being the cause. Around his neck hung Kai Lu's glory, a necklace with a golden pendant made from the very same metal he helped retrieve from pirates for the Imperial Family.
So, what rumor was it that had sent Kai Lu out on his own, in full body armor? Well, he had picked up a whisper that a member of Maxwell's Revival, a cult known to have the goal of reviving the old Goddess, which was believed to in turn cause the destruction of the world, was present here, in his very own capital. And of course, Kai Lu would have to do something about that. It was true that every citizen of Zhi Ming was a firm believer of Gnome, or at least, Kai Lu thought so, any chances of that being compromised had to be dealt with.
Besides, Maxwell's Revival had always been viewed as a terrorist group by most governments. Especially the Western Empire. If they believed them to be a threat, then the Eastern Empire probably did as well. Oh, yes. This was an voluntary task. None of his superiors were aware that Kai Lu had set out to search on his own, that day being in actuality his leave. Really, even in his day-off, Kai Lu had no complaints about working. It was the only thing that mattered in his life.
Now, where to find this Maxwell individual? The large bear paced around, looking for any suspicious activities, hoping that it might lead him to his mark. And just as he turned into another road, though, he found himself almost bumping into a small black-haired girl. Reflexes would prevail, and Kai Lu would be quick to halt his advance, before taking a quick step back so as to accommodate to her. Just because he had stopped, after all, didn't mean that she did. His golden eyes would wander down, before he passed her a soft smile.
"Ah, sorry. I wasn't looking where I was walking."

Cause I can't look back
No more turning back Sure enough, it felt like Rachel was walking in a completely different world. She knew it looked different than the West, but the culture here was not what she expected. How long have they been here without being influenced by the Empire or the Guilds? If it's been quite some time, Rachel knew she would have a hard time getting people to listen, and she didn't want to resort to group's 'Plan B'. It wasn't her thing. In fact, violence was the last thing she wanted to do. It was always better for everyone if one was calm and sweet in nature... That's what her mom told her at least.
Her family... She missed them. Sure, her brother was alive, but he had other things to do. Eventually, she would be all alone. Her sanctuary gone. It was the world's fault for causing it. The world today was cruel, merciless, and unforgiving. She can't live in a world like that. No... she had to change it...
The moment she payed attention to what was in front of her, she noticed something coming at her... and it was WAY too close! Instinct took over, as her next step made her push herself back and she threw her arms up in case the other person didn't stop. But nothing happened...
"Ah, sorry. I wasn't looking where I was walking."
Well, he sounded friendly enough. She slowly put her arms down as she took a glance at the man before her. He was tall... at least about a head taller than her... and rather well built. Her arms dropped back down, but she started to stare at him for a second, her realizing what she was doing soon after and looked away, a little embarrassed. "Oh, no, it's okay. I was, uh... Not really doing that myself either."
She was glued to the spot, not saying anything in that moment. 'Come on, Ray, you're making things awkward for yourself!" Mustering up her courage, she looked at him again, though her blush had yet to completely vanish. "I don't want to trouble you, but could you show me around the area? See, I just got here last night, and this place is entirely new to me, so... Yeah." She added a small smile at the end, as if she was trying to make herself look cute. Truth was, she was kicking herself inside. She just asked a guy, who she just ran into and knew nothing about, to show her around the city. Even she knew how awkward that made her look! But could anyone blame her? She didn't know anything about how things worked here.
Maybe she should have gathered a bit more info about Zhi Ming before coming. At least then she could say she knew a little bit, other than just the name.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,10,true] [atrb=style,width:320px,bTable] i carry the strength of souls now gone Kai Lu would blink his eyes curiously as he stared down upon her. She was being oddly quiet, and for that moment, Kai Lu wondered if he had actually hurt or offended her. Was she alright? Had he done something wrong? To say the least, her silence was unnerving him, and being the clueless naive boy that he was, he never could figure that she was actually just, well, checking him out. "Oh, no, it's okay. I was, uh... Not really doing that myself either." Ah, alright. She was fine. Though Kai Lu was still confused as to why it had taken her a while to reply, he thought it best to ignore it, now that he knew she was fine. That was all that mattered then, really. His smile would slightly widen, and he allowed himself to take a step to the side so as to get out of her way.
Just as he was about to, though, she would suddenly speak up, drawing his attention and causing him to halt in his action. "I don't want to trouble you, but could you show me around the area? See, I just got here last night, and this place is entirely new to me, so... Yeah." He blinked. A tour? He started to think on it. Did he have the time? Well, he did, actually. This search was one that depended on luck than anything else. Rumors was all he had to go on, and he had the whole place to look. That would be a difficult search. In fact, he may actually just find his target in the tour itself, if he was that fortunate. Besides, his loyalty was to his country, and if he could beautify his country more than it already was in the eyes of a stranger, he would do his best to.
Besides, with the people undeniably loyal to their diety, Gnome, he doubted anyone would believe any of these Maxwell believers.
"Sure, I have the time." He smiled, giving a nod of his head. In that case, he would step aside still, but allow his arm to extend towards the path behind him, in a gesture for her to come along. Kai Lu may be shy around females, but that was only the case if the females were actually being aggressive towards him. Besides, what could happen in this tour, right?
"Shall we?"
