MY NAME IS AEDAIN TEOTHE, AND MY AFFINITY IS FIRE. MY SECONDARY ELEMENTAL IS ICE. I AM HETEROSEXUAL AND I AM PLAYED BY DAAKEN.. [/classy][classy=profileextended] personality + Courageous, responsible, gentle, open-minded, loyal, playful, ambitious, modest. - Impulsive, daredevil, impolite, self-catering, self hate, insecure, non-trusty, sarcastic. history Those days? Misery, agony and rage. Born in the King's Hold, in a tavern, in the low quarter of the city, Aedain was given birth by Martha, a tavern wench. Martha, perhaps unlucky due to her previous relationship with a guild leader who decided to betray all of his belief in the name of the Empire, was forced to give her children away to slavery, paying the debt of honour that her husband has willingly brought to her family. Thus, Aedain, or has they called him at that time, Pipsy, was branded (burn mark on his right arm) has a slave and sold to one of the high ranked guild master, a rival from the looks of it, and was sent to a backwater village, right next to the fighting zone between the Empire and the Guild. Thus, Pispy's day of slavery began, when he had grown old enough to do anything for them. He spent most of his youngest year, between the age of 4 to 10, on cleaning duty has a stable boy. Most of his early life was spent in misery, being underfeed and mostly having little to no comfort. The strict minimum for a slave like he was. Of course, any child at that age would complain, but Pipsy knew better by observing the other of his kind. If you would complain, you would get quite a beating. Discipline was enforced into him, yet, he kept his inner thoughts for himself, waiting for an opportunity to crawl out of his status. Of course, what restrained him for so long was branded has he was, he wouldn't be able to survive in society, unless he the took the risk of hiding ''it''. But that wouldn't mean living on the constant pressure of getting found out. So he wait and learn all of the info that he could. At least, his education was standard so he wouldn't be left behind the world. Perhaps his natural curiosity and the fact that he knew how things worked around the stable, worked in his favour. He also to acquire some form of independence, slowly acquiring quality or finding skill he was good at. All of his daily chore's, he would transform into a training, hiding the true meaning behind the act. Wood chopping was something his master were satisfied with. Every hard work he did, he used to prepare himself while he was keeping his raging emotion inside himself. Bottling them up, waiting for the right time, the right opportunity. Such opportunity is rarely given by destiny. Pispy knew that and that why he seized that moment. It was in the morning of a rough and sudden winter here. The village where he ''lived'' was buried in a matter of a night, due to the ever changing flow of Mana. Of course, Pipsy wasn't aware of that scientific explanation and so he merely cursed Celcius for such a bad weather. A few of the slave had died out of cold and so the pressure grow on poor little Pipsy. That's when he finally snapped. Even if twenty or more imperial airship were presented and bombarding is city, or that a troupe of horse riding knight would come soon after, it wouldn't have change anything. Using the chaos provided by the airship, Pipsy rebelled against his former master. Using the little knowledge he had of his weapon, the chopping axe, he helped the soldier overtake his master. Is victory, has explosive has it was, was short lived. He was knocked out and taken into custody once his berserk state was over. He putted far more trust then he should have, that day. Those days? Freedom, soul mate and brothers-in-arms. The cell was damp and humid. He could feel rather then see in the darkness and he knew how big it was. A closer attention to details and sounds and he knew that he was with a rat. It wasn't much of change from his previous life, but at least he wasn't working all day and night. Most of his task was a waiting game. He lost track of time while inside the cell, but at least the food was a gift sent from heaven. The guard were silent when they came for him, and while he dare to ask a few question about where they would be taking him, they politely refuse to say a word about that matter. The explanation came when he saw the cell he was transfer in. Never he had seen such luxury before. A wooden table, a comfy bed and a window who gave him a nice view outside the question. Again the guard where silent has to why he receive such treatment. The explanation came with the next meal. It has been one week(he counted the days) of bread and water, a better treatment compare to his previous life, but the next platter of food that he was a served came with such quality that he wondered what was the meaning behind all of the recent events. Fruits, freshly backed breads, hot eggs and cheese serve by a silent butler. Sitting on a comfy chair before a beautifully made table, Pipsy reaction was unintentional but violent. His right fist rammed the surface of the table. His hand was shock by the pain of the hard surface. Still, it was not a squint of pain that came out his mouth but a raging series of words. ''Would somebody explain what's going on?'' he yelled loudly. The butler was surprise and a little fearful after that outburst, has he quickly left the room, leaving the storm behind. Looking at the door with storm in his eye's, Pipsy decided to eat what he was offer, eating has much has he could, has his skinny body would need every energy it could get. After a few hours, he heard the familiar sound of footstep. Boots on the stony floor. Light but determined. Good, he thought, if someone important was making his way toward his cell, he would probably have some answers. The door was open with some excess of force, has it banged against the stony wall, the sound echoing trough the prison's corridors. Pipsy wasn't prepared for what or whom he say. Elegantly dressed and wearing the formal gear of the highest soldier, nay highest knight, (not that Pispy would be aware of it), the captain commander carried an air of resolved and the look he gave Pipsy made him regretted what he said before. For a few minutes, the man kept silent, his glancing at the young man who stood before him. These blue had seen a lot, the man thought. The body was skinny, but he could see the potential hidden in this short frame. The young man appears to be in it's growth spurt and if he wanted to make a soldier out of it, he would need to begin right way and don't waste time. From what he heard about his troops, the guild man was inexperienced in the field of a battle, let alone knew how to use artes with a weapon. And yet, he willingly betrayed his own country, striking back at them. Anyone in the empire were questioning about what were the intention of the captain about the guild man, or has they called it, the savage. A few of them were discussing it but it seems that the King approved the knight captain and such faith was well deserved. The Knight Captain had the reputation of an hero, and while the higher may complains on a few decision of his, the population was in his favour. ''So, what do you want from me? Why should I be treated like that, me, a good-for-nothing? A slave?'' the last word was hissed with hatred. The man glanced again at the young fierce man that sited on a chair, all tooth and nail. The man merely laugh and the young man gave out a look of confusion. ''They told me that you were the type of person who went straight to the point. The typical nature of your nation.'' said a scorned look in his face. Pipsy lowered his head a bit, but he still had a look of defiance. ''You got guts kid. I heard and read all the reports on you. I'd say I'm impressed but at the same, I'm having doubts. The reaction you had was clear and normal reaction of a man who clearly had to much on his shoulders. Granted that your barely man and that you could prepare, no, probably yearn for such occasion means that you have some spine and ambition.'' Pipsy body was merely laid on his chair, a bit speechless, mostly because he didn't know where the captain was going or what he was aiming for, with this talk. Staring at the young man, the Knight Captain smiled a bit. ''You see, I saw what you did back there. I don't know everything there is to know about you, but in my opinion, few man would have the guts to act like you did.'' Flattery could always get you so far, it didn't really well with Pipsy. He frowned his eyebrow, scracthing his head, is silvery hair nothing short of a mess, is cloths nothing short of rags. Dried blood covered his face and a bit of his cloths. It wasn't the time to offer him a job. ''Your saying that you want savagery in your rank? I admit I snapped by then, but I didn't loose focus.'' ''Yeah I saw how you handle your mans. Those slaves have now a free will of their own. You got quick wits has well and you can act under pressure. What I'm saying it that those quality are precious and without any doubt, we would need you has a knight.'' Pipsy was about to interrupt him, has he didn't want to fall into the command of new slaver driver, but the captain quickly left his right hand, clenching and reducing Pipsy's voice into small gurgle. Pipsy couldn't help but notice the flash in the commander's eye's. ''Your previous display was quite unintentional, but what you summon there wasn't savagery. It was mana. Your emotion were unchallenged and so was your mana, has it filled your body with a fiery temper. I can find someone to help with that. If you joined the knight, you will get a good wadge, you will be well feed and well taken care off.'' Pipsy stared at the captain commander, not knowing what to do. This offer was interesting enough. But their was one flaw in there. ''Can I ask for a favour?'' The knight captain gave him a strange look. ''Yes?'' ''Can I have a name?'' said Pipsy, in all seriousness, is body shaking with sadness. The knight captain stood motionless. What had they done to this poor child. ''You...you don't have a name?'' ''They call me Pipsy. That's my slave name. I always dream of having a name for myself...but I guess, I'm nameless. Do you have any idea of how it feels to be branded? To have no name and no rights?'' The knight captain pause for a moment. ''Has a matter of fact, I do.'' he said while looking into Pipsy's blue eyes. The grey eyes of the man stared right into the young man's eyes, while the captain added. ''I haven't gone what you've been through but I can related to you, somehow. Ask around the group of knight. I'm sure your new sisters and brothers all got some scar, physical or mental, and they will gladly share their life with yours to lessen theirs and yours burden. Welcome aboard, Aedain. Now, pick yourself up, we have work to do.'' said the captain while handing his hand to the bemused Aedain. Aedain introduction to the knight battalion was...welcoming at best. The knights had some minor trust issue with Aedain, even though he was under the orders of their captain and his past has a Guildian was related mostly to slavery. Nevertheless, icebreaker were common in a group like that. Treka, the captain's second in command, was one of them. Flamboyant in nature, it didn't take much time for her to catch the black sheep in the group. Her read armour and likewise red hair, with the familiar grey gaze, captured Aedain's attention. While the Guildian was watching the soldier train, he was left out of the group since he was only hired by knight in one condition: mercenary work. And since he was not a knight, he couldn't participate in the sword training, spear training or gun training. ''I see that you have a problem with training, huh?'' said the young lady with a smirk. ''You don't say.'' replied Aedain with a cynical look. Whatever she would do or say, at the beginning of this day and without knowing much about her, he wouldn't be able to stay made at her. ''Oh, I know. Let's get to the weapon warehouse. I'm sure theirs something we can fetch for you there.'' said Treka while dragging the unwilling Aedain by the hand. A few meters away from the training camp, which was right outside the castle, stood a small building made out of wood and stone. No guards seem to be on station that day, and so, both proceed inside the building. After they went inside, pushing away the double doors. Aedain had never seen such tightly packed arsenal in all his life. Rows of rows of spear, guns, swords, axe, war hammers, maces, etc. Treka turn to watch Aedain. ''I know, that's a bit overwhelming huh. But what did you expected? Your in the capital after all. I heard from my father that you were good with an axe?'' Aedain nodded, but when he took one in his hand, he felt shocked and repulse by it. Those memories. He never wanted to loose is head again. Never. ''What's wrong?'' said Treka, with a concerned look upon herself. ''The axe...I use to sever the bound that the slaver had on me. My chains are gone, but the emotion related to them aren't. I cannot wield this kind of weapon.'' he said while putting the axe were it belonged too, far away from his hands. Looking around like he was desperate, is attention was brought to a narrow space, behind all the rows of weapon. Walking toward it, Aedain got close to what is eye's had previously detected. Bending over to reach the set of weapon, his hand dusting off the cobwebs on the sheath of the weapon. Like the sun dance around their earth, endlessly chasing the moon, the two ring his hand grasped on brought out a feeling of inner peace. Unknown to him at the moment, his inner element had found a tool toward each could express their inspiration. He was the living duality between the raging fire of the sun and the soothing coldness of the moon. ''Ah, those are chakrams. The Empire use to wield those a lot in the past, but since the event of the magitech, we started to use firearms. But from the expression on your face, I'd say you found your soul mate.'' said Treka while laughing out loud. Aedain watched her for a few second before joining her laugh. Maybe she wasn't far from the truth. Yet, he also found another connection that day, though he didn't want to acknowledge it. Not yet. Aedain was 12 years old when he got hold of his weapon, a pair of chakram. They had about 15 inches in diameter and he could hold them easily because of the padded grip, on one side of each chakram. Since their first meeting with the Guildian went a little on the cold side, the knight decided (or were forced by their captain), to give Aedain a second chance by noticing how discipline he was when he slowly but surely began to master his chakram. It took at least two months until he got use to using these, and while he was no master yet, he gained enough reputation and respect so that his name was finally recognized. Nickname the White Duke, because of his white hair, Aedain manage to defeat most of the higher ranking soldier by using his trademark weapon. But, it wasn't until a certain Mister decided to join the training regiment that Aedain destiny went toward a new path. Mister Knoll Strider was a major officer at that time and had quite the personality. The soldier at the camp use to nickname him ''Father Knoll''. His first day of training consisted of a few concentration exercise, because has his master said ''If you can't concentrate while I'm screaming at you, imagine if you try to use any of your artes or magic spell when a dragon has his sight on you. You'd be his diner before you can scream Fireball.'' Reluctant at first, Aedain would prove to a suitable student. Likewise, after breaking the ice, ''Iceberg Knoll'' would prove is well founded reputation has an art teacher. It took a few month for Aedain to grasp the basic, but Knoll explanation on the matter were accurate. ''You need to feel the mana. How can I say this? Mana is everywhere. It made those monsters, it made this land and its part of our body. Each sound, each breath, each life is tied to it. Even the weather. You just need to focus, in your case, picture a small fire. Then, make it ''grow''. Once it's intense, focus it on your catalyst.'' Knoll stop to watch his student focus with intense concentration. Like all mage of his experience, he could see that Aedain was focusing mana toward the catalyst that was tied around his neck. Those years of training had brought much change into Aedain. Not only mentally but also physically. He was no longer the little shrimp that he was before, his growth spurt having done it work in muscling his shape, yet, the ravage of being undernourished had done their tool on his body and while he admire how gracious he felt his body was, he was tiny bit effeminate. While the other of his group all took pride of the colour of their hair, Aedain were still cut short and white has a snow fall. But that wasn't he most important feature. A raging fire was gathering inside is catalyst. His grey leather armour would surely protect him from any misguided mana, but he didn't dare to let is concentration waver. He knew well that his mentor would enjoy it. ''Now, you just need to focus this mana through your weapon to form an artes. Of course, I can't tell exactly what your going to do. You have to find your own way of channelling your mana. Unless somebody taught you a type of fighting style that worked well with an artes.'' Aedain opened his eye's, is normal blue eye now pulsing with a red colour. ''Your saying that I must improvise here? Otherwise what?'' said Aedain with a rough, angry voice. ''Boom.'' said Knoll while mimicking the action with his hand. ''Well, your right about that.'' said Aedain while focusing the gathered mana from the catalyst into one of his chakram, before throwing it at one of the target sign, ten meter away from his location. Naturally, the chakram hit the target, setting it to flame. Aside from the steel chakram that stuck on the wooden post, nothing much remain of the target. ''Well, your more dangerous then you look like.'' said Knoll while watching the waning fire on the target wooden structure. ''And probably ready for a field job.'' said the Captain, standing near the target. Those days? Past, Future and finally, Present. Unexpected but prepared for it, Aedain contract was to assist the knight Captain's battalion in there mission. The mission terms remain quite a secret and it is said that it was an order given by their King. It took two month for the small group of twenty-five to get from the Capital to the near the border Gladiolus and King's hold. Their target was a large city, ruined by age. It was said that a group of Monster Hunter sent by the guild was posted at that location and the King wanted further investigation. Upon arrival, much of the troop spread around the city ruin, searching for any clues about the hunters or any trace of the monsters. Only silence seem to inhabit the ruins of this ancient city. Under the order of the Knight Captain, Aedain, was force to guard Treka and keep the other knight in check, has he, a few elites knight and a mysterious mage from Drasil. After an hour had passed, Treka grew impatient. ''Does it really take that long to explore such a ruined place?'' said Treka while watching the entrance of the underground castle. Two aged pillars were still holding it up and Aedain could smell the thick and humid air that came out of the ruins. He shrugged, his head move left from right. ''I don't know. From what I heard of the local adventurer that went to the inn of the Thorn's Den'', the name of the slaver den where he lived most of his childhood, ''spoke about ruins that went mile under the continent. But with a city made like this, I doubt it would take to long.'' Treka nodded, before adding. ''I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about this place.'' Aedain could understand her feeling, the whole was surrounded by the statue of various sized, representing mostly the spirits of old or demon of the underworlds. Why did the population liked to represent these otherworldly things? Aedain couldn't figure why and it would probably take the help of a scholar to decipher any of the present and still readable inscription found on the statutes. ''Hmm, well all of the ancient ruins of the world has this kind of feeling. What should have been destroy, isn't. And monster like to gather around here. The only I find weird is that I don't sense any mana around this place.'' ''Well I'm tired of waiting. I say, lets go and find what's holding them back.'' said Treka while slipping in through the entrance. Obviously not listening to her order, Aedain decided to follow her, before anything may happen to her. It seems they went in unnoticed by the knight that patrolled the place. Most of their exploration remained silent, except a few time when they came upon the corpse of a knight or one of the hunters. Has they made their way across several hallway and partly collapsed tunnels, Aedain noticed a few things. The first thing he noticed, were the web of pipeline that seem to grew like an hydra inside the ruin's corridors. The second he noticed, is by observing the wounds on the hunters corpse and the way their body had fallen, it seems that they were trying to prevent something from escaping or trying to stop the knights from progressing. The third thing he noticed, where the murals. They seem to depict the scene of an ritual of some sort. Whatever it was that the Empire wanted to get their hands on or whatever the Guild wanted to protect was something quite important. Has they got deeper into the ruins, they finally reach what appears to be a Inner Chamber. Aedain could hear the faint sound of a voice. Both him and Treka stopped, not wanting to get found out by whoever had that voice. ''Oh, this is an incredible discovery. The ancient people of this place...I now understand why they were smitten by the spirits. They were trying to turn themselves into one of them. This whole place is a sacrificial altar. Well, maybe not all of them kukukukuku. This plan is always prepared by a single entity who is obsess by power. Predictable.'' said a familiar voice. It was the mage, has Aedain recalled. ''And so this structure still work?'' said another voice. This time the captain. ''Most likely. Although, I do not know yet the incantation require to have the desired effect. All I know is that it require the blood of someone from the Eld, to properly activate it.'' ''Oh so the king was right after all. But we do have a suitable person for that.'' ''Oh yes, the king's pet. I was wondering why were you keeping such a man in your rank. So I presume he would obey any kind of orders?'' Aedain suddenly felt cold steel on his back. ''Yes. He his duty bound to me. Are you not, Aedain? Treka, bring him in.'' ''Yes, master.'' said Treka while bringing in an snarling Aedain. By the sound of her voice, Aedain could feel that she wasn't happy about this course of action. ''Oh.'' said the captain with a smile. ''Don't be so mad at me. You are far to gullible for you own good, Aedain. Treka was always mine to begin with. She followed her orders like the perfect guardian that she was. Not knowing that we only let you live for the purity of your blood. Didn't you know? Of course you do not. But I'm not going to spoil all this carefully made plan. Drisdain, if you would have the pleasure.'' said the captain to the mage. Aedain grunted at the mention of his treason, but he would no have the Captain Knight the pleasure of showing is infuriated nature. Using an ancient looking dagger, the mage drew blood out of Aedain by cutting his right arm. Carefully bringing the blood soaked dagger to the ''mouth'' of the contraption or altar that was in the centre of chamber. It represented a land wyrm, a once deceased wingless dragon that was rumoured to be the reason of the technologically advancement made for the airship. The whole ruins seem to rumble now. The group could feel the earth shaking under their feet, has the sound of giant mechanism was activate. The clunky sound of this mechanism could only mean two things for Aedain. First, that the knight captain and his mage had freed something. Second, that they were wrong in their interpretation of the device. The few second that went by, which appeared to last for an hour for everyone present, were eternally printed inside Aedain mind. Before everything collapsed around him in heaps of stones, Aedain could see the shock on both the Captain's and the mage's face as their plan finally went into dust. Their intention didn't reflect the end result. Deceased didn't meant it was instinct. Aedain now understood fully what they had unleashed. Why the hunter were so desperate to keep them from reach this inner chamber. The monster. He didn't knew what was the name of the beast. But it appears to be quite ancient. It couldn't recall a lot of details about the beast, but he remember the giant mouth, the eye's and the tip of the iceberg that was it's body. Aedain vision was quickly blind by the rock, stones and dust when the top of the chamber quickly cave in under the size of the beast. It took twenty hour for him to be brought back to his sense. He was tied on a tree, near the outside of the ancient ruins. Not to far from him, Treka was likewise tied to a tree too. Obviously, he didn't knew why he was outside of the ruins or why wasn't he already dead...or left alive for that matter. Looking at Treka, he noticed that she was conscious and sobbing, by the looks of her tears. Was that regrets? Aedain couldn't afford to ask a question, has one of the Guildian, an hunter by the looks of his appearance and gear, a bow strapped on his back. The hunter knelled in front of Aedain, pointing a dangerously sharp dagger this throat. ''It seem they play quite a nice game with you. Or so I manage to heard.'' said the yellow eyed Guildian. Aedain merely shrug. ''What can I say? It seem most people like to play with my life. Use it, even, to fulfill their goal. The second I think that something is stable in my life, it quickly turn from a stone castle to a sand castle.'' The Hunter nodded, acknowledging what Aedain was saying. ''It appears that you went through a lot, by the looks of your face and the brand on your hand.'' Rage seem contract Aedain feature. ''Another one who try to underestimate me? One does not do so twice. Just because my father sinned doesn't mean that his baby have to pay for it or that he too, will fall under the same mistake. Rationality seem to be a weakness of the Empire and the Guild. Both side are playing in the hands of those who seek to take advantage of this.'' ''Wise words indeed. You seem to know a lot about this world.'' said the hunter while getting back on his feet. ''Oh, I realize today that I don't know much about it has I was leaded too. I would suggest that you end my life now, so that my mind would be cleansed of what I have to endure up until now. I fear that if I do manage to draw breath by tomorrow, I will hate humanity for the rest of my life.'' said Aedain with a cold voice. ''No...don't do that. Those memory...I didn't want this to happen. I was honest back then. Aedain, please, believe me.'' said Treka desperately. ''I'm sorry. Part of me still want to believe in you. But a greater part of me refuse to acknowledge anything good coming from this world. I have lost faith in humanity. I have known and seen the two face of humanity. I believe that if I would have die, nothing wrong would have happen in your life and we wouldn't be here tied to a tree.'' said Aedain, overcome with negative energy. The hunter didn't seem to know what to do or what to say and thus was caught between to fires. ''I don't think my life would have been better without meeting you.'' said Treka, hesitantly. ''If you weren't there, I would still be serving the Knight Captain.'' ''Oh, you aren't serving him now? Do you think that it would change anything by quitting now? Your a born has woman from the Empire. I was born has slave of the Guilds. That much has always been clear to me. I did believe otherwise for some time. But seeing has I been living a lie for the past seven years.'' said Aedain angrily, rage taking over his facial feature. The hunter waited patiently for Aedain to be finished with his venting of the situation. Gathering his thoughts, Flain, current leader of the Monster Hunter Guild, decided to add his opinion on this mess. Much of his time in the past seven years was spent servings has the second in command for the Guild and searching for the background surrounding the man before him. Teothe was his family name and while it was too late for the scar that was branded on his right hand, he wanted to repay a debt that King's Hold had over the Teothe family. ''It would seem that your mistaken on that. The Guilds owe you a debt that couldn't be paid in a life time. Your aren't certainly aware of it, but your are part of the Teothe family. It would seem their was a ploy to capture you and several other kids by a group of slave traders. It took a long time for your father to realize this and the guild-leaders to acknowledge the evidence that his brother manage to bring. I am very sorry if I didn't free you from the slaver trader or the Empire sooner.'' said the Hunter, bowing in front of Aedain. A bit shocked by the latest revelation, Aedain's venting was cut short. Is mind was racing, quickly placing every piece of the puzzle that was his past. Of course, he would made sense. Those slave trader never really mention any of the family that were part of the ring leaders of each guild. ''So, what your saying is that I'm part of ''that'' family. How can I prove or can you prove that.'' said Aedain with a now calmed voice. ''The Empire needed your blood in order to activate the ancient ruin's machinery.'' said Treka. She appeared to have calmed down a bit, ever since Aedain was calm again. ''And that's where the Empire was wrong. Just because it's an altar doesn't mean their is a need for bloodshed or sacrifices. Your intelligence gathering is by far less effective then ours.'' corrected Flain. A bit taken aback by the sudden revelation, Treka decided to listen to what Flain had to say for that matters. ''But I can't really blame the Empire for that. They seem to lack the necessary knowledge that we have. You see Aedain, the group I lead in our guild is specialize in monster hunting but since we work has a team with the other group, we exchange information and thus, I was well informed about that ruin in particular.'' said Flain. No longer aiming his dagger at Aedain's throat, the Hunter was now walking back and forth in front of both captives. ''While the word ''blood'' is stated in the ancient language of this culture, the correct requirement in order to start the ancient device is Mana. Unfortunately for the Knight Captain, the knowledge of his subordinate, that mage, was incomplete. It seem that they have awakened the guardian of this city, instead of using the device power, which by the way, would required more mana then the Empire could produce in a single year, if all their mage could be gathered that is.'' said Flain with irony. ''So, if not for my blood, then why did my family warrant such debt?'' ''Aside from the major misunderstanding that was the result of some fake information from one of the leader in the Rogue Guild, which was later found responsible for the kidnapping, the King's Hold and the Guilds want to repay the tarnished reputation of your family who only serve for all this year has hunters for the Monster Hunter Guild.'' said Flain with a straight, polite voice. ''I see.'' said Aedain after a moment. ''Then why am I tied to this tree?'' ''Oh, simple precaution. Has for what happen in the ruins. The beast is out and rampaging. For now, it's hunting range will be close to the ruins, but I fear that it may go on beyond this territory, in the future. Has for the knight captain, he went missing in action. Anyway, you have other business to take care off, unless the potential of leading the Hunter Guild is something that you would turn down.'' said Flain with an amusing expression on his face, has he cut Aedain's restrains. ''Well that's an awful lot of information that I need to swallow up. I can follow you and we will see how it goes.'' said Aedain with a distant look on his face, slowly getting back to his feet. Is mind was still racing. ''That's good new then. The airship is ready to take you home. Which left us with one last detail. The girl...do you still want her close to you, even she has proven to be a traitor? Because she knows to much already and has an agent of the Empire, I cannot let her live.'' said Flain in all seriousness. ''You seem to be well informed of my current life, considering my previous status.'' said Aedain with sarcasm. ''I'm trained to noticed every details. It come with the job and so far, I heard no complains out of your father. Will you get back at the matters at hand now?'' said Flain with impatience. The hunter went over the tree cairn, not to from Aedain and Treka's current location. A slight look at it and Aedain so that he was praying for the recently deceased hunters. Aedain attention then went back to Treka. Looking at Treka, Aedain could see that she was imploring him. Those eyes. Yet again. ''Okay, answer me one question Treka. Why did they even trained me, if I was to be sent has a pig for slaughter?'' said Aedain, his voice sounding serious for once, watching here, eye's in eye, has their tree were facing each other and Flain was putting the finishing touch on the cairn of the recently deceased member of his guild. Treka was nervous and Aedain could see that her face was blushing. ''Frankly, you should know better then that. Call it pity, but that day I went against my superior's order. Then, slowly but surely, I got to know you better and well...you know the rest. Everything since then, it was a real. I still hope it's real, even after what I've done to you. Though, if you want to end my life, then, I wouldn't object. But only by your hand.'' she said with her voice trembling. Aedain close is eye for a short while, before letting out a long sigh. ''Hunter.'' said Aedain, his voice, still serious. ''The name's Flain.'' said the Hunter, while he got up to his feet, his prayer now long since done. ''Flain, could cut both of your bounds? I think the Empire made a tragic mistake, by playing with our loyalties.'' The hunter smiled and so did Treka. ''Oh and, could you get me another weapon. Those weapon from the Empire, are already tainted with a bad feeling. I cannot wield them no longer. I will not use the weapon of the Empire to murder the beast that I unleashed.'' he said while gathering himself, ready for the next step of his life. The hunter had a confused look upon his face but Treka was laughing and shaking her head in disbelief. Four months passed since the incident. Aedain was back were he belong, the country that he left so many years ago, against his will. It would seem that his new life would take some to time to get use too. He went trough a lot, emotionally, with the first reunion with his parents. Has it turns out, his father was now married to the tavern wench that had stolen his heart, back then. Fortunately for him, Treka was there to support him when he went trough this turmoil, and their bound grew out. It wasn't until two years, at the age of 20, that he went and undergo the training of the Hunter Guild. Several physical and magical trial were made for him in order to test his skill has the next Guild leader. It would appear that the quality he had inherit from his life made him stand out among the potential candidates. Even though he lack proper mastery of his new found weapon, the spear, he brought upon a new record for the number of monster killed in the hunting part of the trial. At the age of 24, now leader of his own guild and having completed several mission and with a new-found reputation, Aedain set his eyes out on the world. notes OPTIONAL. +Aedain like the taste of tea whenever he can drink some. +He's recently new to the monster hunting job, but he is pretty good at spotting them and understanding their emotional state. +He's main goal is to fulfill is duty has a Guild Leader and slay whatever beast he has unleashed. +He want to find more about the recent falling of King's hold and if their anyway to fix the problem of his homeland.
