Okay, beyond sitewide events—ones where boards are created, and you create your own threads based on the settings—we are considering adding a second element of event-creation for AMBROSIA. These can be most easily referred to as "subplots." They will each have bearing on the grander site plot, and allow for members to get dragged into happenings throughout the whole of Yumiris's world. As part of it, you will earn 500 GP only for participation; the threads don't need to be completed.
In this sense, think of our events/site wide subplots as like collaborative writing prompts:
We give you a quick and to-the-point scenario with plenty of big plot relevance that's easy to get involved with and perfect for NPC interaction. You take it from there. You will be given total freedom with how the subplot develops, save the original description and the characters that you will be working with.
As part of this, you can suggest using your own character subplots as elements. We'll take into consideration any kind of feedback you give us, and try to develop the prompt's concept around your recommendations. Just know that they will be short and open-ended for your convenience; all our final prompts should never exceed two paragraphs.
Expect them to be different from what you would usually write, such as introductions between characters, barfights, and the norm. They might include getting into ship battles, exploring lost lands or areas, stumbling on a Summon Spirit hold accidentally, following information about your character's missing parents, riots in the slums of the Empire because of rebel groups, etc. We will try to make them reasonable for whatever character groups are randomly generated. That being the case, your subplots will be loosely "personalized."
As a note, all these will have the okay by staff because we will design the original prompt—none of them should interrupt with the larger siteplot, and should be easily integrated within it. You won't need to worry about messiness or confusion over whether or not you can be included. All you've gotta do is sign up and write.
Okay, that said: the biggest goals here are to A.) provide a venue for character development that is not restricted by biases about the rpers/characters and B.) get as many people as we can involved with AMBROSIA's world. Before anything else, though, I wanna see who is willing to be part of this. So:
Sign up the characters you're willing to get tossed into random subplots and give me your opinion on what you think might help make this application smoother. (Or if you feel it should not be done at all.) Anyone can be involved whether they are new or old, canon or noncanon.
