Friends
First and foremost, getting on Adam's good graces is really not a terribly difficult feat. In all ways, he is trusting to a fault and has scarcely a dishonest bone in his body. The core conceit and source of this blissful naivety is that Adam strives always to see the good in others and tends to give them the benefit of the doubt unless proven, in no uncertain terms, to be guilty. Really, his own confidence (some might even say hubris) has led Adam to be so comfortable with this system of beliefs. He feels that he is talented enough of a swordsman to protect himself from the consequences of his gullibility, though how true this is remains to be seen. Regardless, Adam is notoriously easy to get along with, and, once you are counted among his friends, he is as fiercely protective and unfailingly loyal as they come. Of course, it bears mentioning that he tends to be protective of everyone; Adam will often take decidedly unnecessary risks if it means keeping others out of harm's way.
Enemies
Despite his good nature, Adam is not without his adversaries. He is certainly no friend of the Empire's ruling class, for he considers their neglect of their subjects to be nothing less than appalling. Adam is very much considering allying himself with a rebellion against their tyranny, though he's still on the fence about taking up arms against those he once called friends. Generally speaking, he doesn't hate the nobles so much as the actual rulers of the land. There was once a time when Adam was the enemy of any who would stand against his home country, but the months have seen him grow increasingly distasteful of nationalism. He considers himself an ally of the people, and the only way to truly earn his hatred is by endangering innocent lives. Well, that and the abuse of power - Adam can't stand to see the strong terrorizing the weak, for he feels it is their responsibility to defend those who cannot defend themselves.
Romance
Adam grew up the son of a respected noble, so it was generally expected that he would one day enter into an arranged marriage with a young lady of similar upbringing in such a way that it benefited both families. Of course, since that arranged marriage probably isn't in the cards any longer, Adam now has free reign over his love life. That said, romance is not something he's spent that much time thinking about. To be sure, it wouldn't be a very difficult feat to turn him a bit red, though he does have something of a romantic hidden beneath the surface. It's just that he directs most of his energy toward fixing the sorry state of the world, and so he isn't likely to fall for someone who isn't...proactive, for lack of a better term.
